1. Interim check after 24 months
NDC-RI uses the diving logbook to assess whether sufficient continuing practical experience has been obtained. The required numbers and durations depend on the registered scope.
Logbook not submitted on time
Insufficient practical experience
Following assessment, an extension of up to three months may be granted upon request. The extension is deducted from the subsequent period for continuing practical experience. If the requirements are still not met within the extended period, the registration expires.
Medical unfitness
In the event of continuing medical unfitness established by a physician, a further extension of up to three months may be granted upon request after the first extension or postponement.
2. Re-registration
The portfolio assessment and practical examination, where applicable, take place within the final 12 months before the expiry date. After the expiry date, the existing registration is no longer valid.

4. FAQ
Is my registration removed immediately if my logbook is late?
No. A notice of intended removal is issued first. You then have a maximum of two weeks to submit the logbook.
What if I have insufficient dives or minutes?
Following assessment, an extension of up to three months may be granted upon request. In the event of medical unfitness, a second extension of up to three months may be possible under the conditions of the scheme.
What if my registration has already expired?
You may no longer work on the basis of that registration. Contact NDC-RI to determine which route applies to obtain a new valid registration.
